"One cannot
think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.” So said Virginia
Woolf in her 1929 novel A Room of One’s Own. The saying is so true when
you have a chance to escape from the scorching heat of the sun to dine at
Thai-Am Restaurant # II, Madeira Beach, St. Petersburg—a fine Thai restaurant
with friendly service, an array of bona fide and tasty Thai cuisines, along with
Grade A Sushi that costs you just only $1 a piece. No catch. Period.
To celebrate its 6th year anniversary in January 2001, Thai-Am # II has recently
launched the Peerless-One-Dollar Sushi campaign as part of its latest
promotion of the Sushi bar's grand opening. Following 6 years of genuine Thai
food services, Thai-Am # II has just remodeled the restaurant’s décor and added
numerous Sushi items to the original menu that already has almost a hundred of
wonderful items. The new Sushi menu features both raw fish and cooked
ingredients (please forget the idea that Sushi is all raw.) Cooked Sushi
normally comprises boiled shrimp, smoked salmon, grilled eel, grilled egg,
octopus, baby octopus, crab, and sweet tofu (Inari). Absolutely, Vegetarian
Sushi is also available at Thai-Am # II. You can choose from a wide variety of
rolls, namely, Asparagus, Avocado, Cucumber, Vegetable, and Futomaki—a giant
roll with 8 vegetable ingredients prepared exclusively for the vegetarian
customers. Highly recommended are such Thai-Am # II’s special rolls as the
Spider Roll (soft-shell crab roll), Mexican Roll (shrimp tempura roll), and
Snow Crab Roll (Alaskan snow crab roll)—all of which are customers’
favorites.
To satiate your most distinguished taste in Japanese rolls, the best is yet to
be discovered. Mention Tempura JB Roll and you will definitely be able to
partake a true Tempura roll generously stuffed with fresh salmon, rich cream
cheese, crisp asparagus, and scallion. The roll is sliced into small pieces,
lightly battered, deep-fried to a golden brown, and served HOT right from the
fryer. Another ultimate experience for cooked-Sushi lovers, the roll tastes
crunchy outside but delectably soft within. Not only Sushi’s are available, but
a variety of other Japanese foods are also awaiting you to try. Tantalizing
Soft-shell Crab ’n Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura are on top of the Japanese
appetizer list. In addition, Japanese salads and soup are also items to be had.
The special dinner comprising Miso Soup, House Ginger Salad, and a bowl of
Japanese steamed rice will undoubtedly satisfy your hunger. Chicken or
Beef Teriyaki’s served with House Teriyaki sauce are a set of great special Japanese
dinner. If you were fond of Tempura dinner, Grouper or Soft-shell Tempura would
be the perfect choice. Nonetheless, if you still prefer Sushi as your great
dinner dish, the Sushi combination for 1, 2, or 3—served on a striking boat—is
recommended. Thai-Am # II’s Sushi Bar is open Tuesday-Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to
10:00 p.m. Chefs Steve & Gan, the

Thai-Am # II offers its customers the best dining experiences of two Eastern
worlds—Japanese and Thai. As for the authentic Thai menu, The restaurant has
just created several brilliant new items including Thai-Am Seafood Salad,
Duck
in Paneang Curry, and House Special Fried Rice. Chicken Satay is one of the
much-praised appetizers there. The dish consists of pre-cooked chicken strips on
bamboo skewers marinated with savory yellow curry powder in coconut milk, served
with creamy House Peanut Sauce and mouth-watering Cucumber Salad. The fun and
exciting experience of having this meal set is enhanced with a lovely flaming
burner placed together with the set, offering you a chance to enjoy grilling the
chicken further on your own. Should your heart ever desire more various kinds
and flavors of the appetizers, Appetizers Combo is a must. With this set come
finger-licking Chicken Wing, crispy Spring Rolls, crunchy Fried Wonton, and
savory Chicken Satay all on the same dish.
Thai meals are normally accompanied by soups. Hot & Sour Shrimp Soup (a.k.a. as
Tom Yum Koong) is a uniquely fantastic Thai soup cooked with straw mushroom,
onion, bell pepper, and flavored with lemon grass, kaffir-lime leave, galanga,
fresh lime juice, and roast-chili paste. To experience a touch of beach
ambiance, Chicken Coconut Milk Soup can help intensify your impression. This soup
is prepared and cooked almost the same way as the preceding one; only the creamy
coconut milk is floated atop to accentuate the most exceptional flavor.
Nam Sod is a harmonious mixture of Thai-Am # II salad you shouldn’t miss.
Ginger, peanut, red onion, cilantro, and scallion are added into this spicy and
sour chicken salad, promoting it to be a leading Thai salad dish.
Regular customers know that Thai-Am # II’s

with choice of meats is the most popular and matchless item. If you are a Thai
curry gourmet lover, savor this secret recipe Panaeng to find out why it is the
most laudable curry.

You might have heard of a famous Thai fried noodle dish called Pad Thai. But have you ever experienced the authentic
Pad Thai with extraordinary flavors? This yummy noodle dish is voted first
choice by almost all customers. Pad Thai is a combination of rice noodle sautéed
with egg, chicken, shrimp, fresh bean sprout, and scallion. The uniqueness of
this delicious item hides in the ground peanut and lime wedge placed aside the
dish. Just squeeze the fresh, juicy lime over the hot fried noodle and mix all
of them together with the ground peanut. The first bite of it will thrill you
with delighted awe.
Due to the spiciness of some Thai foods, a sweet-but-toothsome dessert is always
ordered by many customers following main course. Fried Banana wrapped with rice
skin, fried to a golden brown and topped with honey and roast sesame is one of
the ideals. The sweetness of dessert will soothe the spiciness of food and
cleanse the palate.
